Assistant Coach: Madi Glatz
Hometown: Morton, IL
School: Morton HS; Augustana College (Illinois) (BA)
Athletic Highlights: A multi-sport athlete at Morton High School, Madi was a four-year participant in volleyball and track & field. She took that multi-sport participation to Augustana College where she was also a four-year participant in both volleyball and track & field. On the volleyball team, she played multiple roles as a DS, libero, and setter constantly working to put her teammates and her team in a position to have success on the court. She was her team's recipient of the Augie Award for spirit and enthusiasm three years in a row and was named Most Improved Player in 2018.
In track and field, Madi primarily competed in the 400m and triple jump events. One of her more memorable highlights was stepping in for an injured teammate at their CCIW indoor conference meet in 2018. Replacing their fastest 400m athlete, she contributed to their relay still finishing as conference champions in the 4 x 400m relay event. After qualifying for the indoor national meet at a last chance qualifier, Madi continued to have a role on their relay, helping her relay squad qualify for finals and placing 7th to earn indoor Div. III All-American honors.
Through her experiences in both volleyball and track & field, Madi understands the value and importance of team and trusting those around you to stay the course in an effort to find success.
Coaching Highlights: Madi completed her third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the girl's track and field team in 2023. Madi led a deep and talented long jump group in 2023 and continued working with our 400m athletes in the Spring. In 2022, she led freshman Elodie Stroup to a state meet qualifying mark of 17 feet, 1 inches, and had three jumpers over 16 feet in the event. In 2023, she guided Elodie Stroup and freshman Bella Chamberlin to the state meet, and Elodie returned to garner all-conference honors in the event in 2023. Madi is also the sophomore girl's volleyball head coach at PV and an assistant on the varsity coaching staff under Coach Amber Hall, which won the 2021 Class 5A State Volleyball Championship and were runners-up at the Class 5A State tournament in 2022. Madi is a USATF Level I certified track & field coach.
Madi will contribute again as a volunteer coach this season, but has transitioned to being a track & field coach with Pleasant Valley Junior High.
